A few years ago, I turned 40 and I began to realize that I was also important as a person. This may sound a bit on the selfish side but it’s as if I suddenly woke up and felt…privileged (?) to just be myself. How does this happen when you are a mother, a wife and someone who has always tried to take care of everyone around her? Somewhere along the years, I forgot to remember to take care of myself in the process. Does this make me a horrible person? Does it make me sound conceited or snobbish? Perhaps, but this new chapter of my life is not meant to be seen in that light at all. In fact, it’s more of a “flinging-open-the-windows-to-let-the-light- in” kind of stage and I welcome it full force with open arms.
All of my life, I have been told what is expected of me- how I should act, what I should say, what clothing I should wear. Yet, it is only now that I have begun to accept myself as who I am and who I have become. Better yet- who I am still yet to be. I feel as if I am glowing with life. My only regret is that it took me so long to get to this glorious place in my life- a place where my thoughts are my own and I almost feel as if I understand how to be in touch with everything around me- music, art, nature and most importantly, myself. Enter, the Goddess.
Goddess? Did She Say Goddess?!
Yes, I did. Many of you may be gasping at such absurd forwardness but I stand tall and proud for sharing my revelations on life. What I have learned and continue to learn every single day is that everything that we do each day contributes to our well-being. This includes our friends and family, our foods and how we take care of ourselves. So how did I begin to notice the Goddess within me after passing that magically frightening age? How does any 40+ woman look into the mirror and smile back at themselves when there is so much pressure to look better and feel better but not express it without some type of backlash?
Rule #1: Adore Yourself
Realize that you are allowed to love yourself as you are. This is such a simple thing but most women don’t understand that they are allowed to celebrate themselves. By doing small things for yourself every day, I promise that you will also find your inner Goddess. For me, it was finding a healthy line of products like SeabuckWonders with multiple benefits that would be easily incorporated into my everyday life.
Rule #2: Simplicity is Key
Women today are faced with having to multitask above and beyond. Simplify your daily routine and seek out alternatives that will help you do this. I don’t have the time or the energy to waste trying to do too much at once and I accept that. I found that by using the skincare products from SeabuckWonders, I can keep up with my beauty regimen while also benefitting from the multiple bioactive elements of their products (such as the natural antioxidants, four sources of omegas, boost for my immune system and improving my overall health).
Rule #3: Appreciate the Small Things
We all want immediate changes but stop and think, isn’t it more apparent to us when we have those really good hair or makeup days? Now imagine noticing having multiple days like that. It could be me but shortly after I began using sea buckthorn oils, I felt as if I began to look shimmery and fresh. As if my inner glow was peeking through. My skin felt soft and those pesky lines were a little less pesky. Herewith, the Goddess emerged.
Rule #4: Embrace Your Knowledge
Once you find what works for you, continue. Utilize the positives and keep the negatives under control. If your body is in balance, then it's reflected in your entire being- your energy levels, your outer appearance, your thought process and even your confidence. After years of looking for answers and finally having some, I have become determined to continue increasing what works for me rather than focusing on what everyone else is doing. Could this also be the nutrients that I am getting from sea buckthorn products? Perhaps, but even so, I welcome the healthy, happy side effects.
Rule #5: Go Forward
Begin each day by incorporating what makes you a stronger person. Accept that your newfound opportunities can be blended with the old as well but continue to improve upon them. For me, it’s even included adding sea buckthorn oil into my already-cooked meals for an added source of support that I benefit from several times a day.
Take it from one goddess to another- life tends to be complicated but it doesn’t have to be. Our bodies are our temples and we need to treat them as such. SeabuckWonders Sea Buckthorn products may seem simple enough but that’s the key- simple ways to improve you from the inside out with a multitude of benefits hidden within. Or as for my personal experience: shimmering from the inside out.
