If you love doing DIY projects then you can take this to the next level. Adding sea buckthorn oil to your recipes is easy and makes your products more beneficial. Today we are going to show you how to make a bar of sea buckthorn oil soap.
1 lb of Soap base (glycerin, soy, shea butter, etc...)
Microwave safe bowl for melting soap
Soap coloring agent
½ - 1 tsp of skin-safe essential oil
A soap mold
A spoon
5 drops of sea buckthorn berry oil
5 drops of sea buckthorn seed oil
Coconut oil (optional)
Items to decorate your soap (optional: flower petals, herbs, heat-proof trinkets)
First, you will need to cut your soap into ½ inch chunks and place them in your microwave safe bowl.
Microwave your soap for 30 seconds on high. Continue for 10 seconds at a time stirring in between. Repeat this until the soap is completely melted.
Next, add your coloring. Add as much or as little as you’d like to get your desired color.
Now it’s time to add your essential oils
Add the sea buckthorn berry and seed oils. Also, add coconut oil if you choose to use it.
Stir your soap solution until everything is well mixed together
Once it has cooled, but not hardened at all, pour the mixture into the molds. At this point, you can also add in any decorative items that you would like to use in your soap.
Let the soap cool until it hardens and then remove it from the molds. If your soap doesn’t come right out, then set it in the freezer for 10 minutes and try again.
Pop the soap out of the mold and it's ready for use!
